Engineer II

Position Title: Engineer II

Experience: 3+ years

Responsibilities: The candidate will interface with existing and potential clients on a technical basis. The Engineer II candidate will be involved in the following activities:

  • Use engineering skills to design, prototype and test client’s products and systems.
  •  Initiate process development changes per the client’s specification.
  • Work independently at times to meet client’s project needs. 
  • Generate drawings and/ or other technical documents per client’s specifications. 
  • Perform data analysis and engineering calculations related to the client’s project. 
  • Support the development of long-term client relationships for sustained growth. 

Required: The candidate should have the following minimum qualifications:

  • B.S. or B.Tech. in either mechanical, electrical, manufacturing or industrial engineering. 
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles (LMSS). 
  • CAD/CAE experience (SolidWorks preferred) or Statistical software experience (JMP or Minitab). 
  • Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written.
  • Ability to travel to client’s facilities throughout New York State and the Northeast. 
  • Self-motivated and interested in machine design, industrial and systems engineering. 

Preferred: In addition to the required qualifications, the following is highly desirable:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Understanding of the New Product Development (NPD) process. 
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
  • Knowledge of machining and manufacturing processes, including industrial controls. 

Description: The Engineer II is a mid-level position which is responsible for the research, design and development of client’s products and processes. This position will report to a Sr. Engineer or higher and will be responsible for managing part of a client’s project. This is a dynamic position that will require a variety of skills including product design, industrial engineering, process development and project management. The candidate will, at times, have limited supervision regarding their day-to-day activities; therefore, they must be able to work independently, in addition to being part of a diverse team.

Position Title: Engineer I

Experience: 1-3 years

Responsibilities: The candidate will interface with existing and potential clients on a technical basis. The Engineer I candidate will be involved in the following activities:

  ·  Support senior engineers in the design, prototyping and testing of client’s products.

  ·  Work independently at times to meet client’s design needs.

  ·  Generate drawings and other technical documents per client’s specifications.

  ·  Support the development of long-term client relationships for sustained growth.

Required: The candidate should have the following minimum qualifications:

  ·  B.S. or B.Tech. in either mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering or technology.

  ·  CAD experience (Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks preferred).

  ·  Strong technical background.

  ·  Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written.

  ·  Great interpersonal skills working with clients and desire to forge   strong relationships

  ·  Ability to travel to client’s facilities throughout New York State and the Northeast.

  ·  Self-motivated and interested in machine design and    mechatronic systems.

Preferred: In addition to the required qualifications, the following is highly desirable:

  ·  Experience in a manufacturing environment.

  ·  Working knowledge of machining and manufacturing processes, including industrial automation.

  ·  Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.

  ·  Experience in New Product Development (NPD) processes.


Description: The Engineer I is an entry-level position which will assist more senior engineers in the research, design, and development of client’s products. This is a dynamic position that will require a variety of task including some project management. The candidate will, at times, have limited supervision regarding their day-to-day activities; therefore, they must be able to work independently, as well as being part of a diverse team. With a focus on developing long-term client relationships, the candidate should possess excellent communications skills and feel comfortable interacting with a variety of stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a background and/or aptitude for various electrical engineering projects and industrial controls. Additionally, some familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma is a big plus.
